It would have been difficult to do otherwise: an exhibition in which two artists, with very different practices, coexist. The works can dialogue as much as they can repel each other. A collaboration like this could not have ended otherwise. After all, it could not have ended otherwise even at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the body, naive but considered obscene, was slowly eroticized, transforming into a recurring pornographic image. Because obscene is not one’s own body, but that of others. And it could not have been otherwise that, in the eighteenth century, the people accused of heresy, depicted by Goya, were burned at the stake. And that their headdresses — the capirotes — two centuries later changed meaning: party hats, subverted and desecrated, used for fun. It could not have ended otherwise. Now put on your hat and look around.
Stefano Stoppa (2001, Venice) lives and works in Brussels. In his work, in an often ironic and unpredictable imagery, he plays with the ways in which personal identities are constructed, the labels that define them and the perceptions that derive from them. He is currently attending the Master in Fine Arts at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. He is an atelierista at the Istituzione Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice in the year 2023-24!
Jacopo Zambello (1999, Rovigo) lives and works between Rovigo and Venice. In 2022 he won the Painting section of the XIV edition of the Nocivelli Prize. He is currently attending the two-year Painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 2023 he won the Martini International Award at the Artivisive San Fedele Prize and was included in the book "222 Artisti Su Cui Investire" published by Exibart. He is an atelierista at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation Institution in Venice in the year 2023-24. In 2025 he was among the winners of the eighth edition of We Art Open.
