In my work I have been a link between the works of great artists and a public of readers, who did not have the opportunity to see in person the "Mona Lisa", the "Victory of Samothrace" or the Memling Triptych in Danzig. My heritage of images is made up above all of photographs studied to be easily read by those who have to enjoy them, but the framing, the light, the shooting angle are my interpretation of the work. Here I present an exhibition held in Cluny together with a very dear friend of mine, Madeleine Melot. My photos were exhibited with her paintings, views of Burgundy and the Maconnais, and were made with a printing technique, which I was studying in those days, which involves the deconstruction of black and white images and their reconstruction in color. It was a very interesting job, tiring for that hint of randomness, which derives, perhaps, from a reaction to the rigor sought in the images of a lifetime. At the exhibition I also thought of exhibiting a painting in memory of Madeleine.

I was born in Mantua many years ago, I had a cycle of studies tormented by the war and the post-war period, ending with a photography school in Milan. Photography was my dream as a viaticum to enter museums, that is, to live in beauty, so it was, I was very lucky because I started immediately by making for banking institutions, large books with reproductions of frescoes, statues and cathedrals, perched on unlikely scaffolding. Then I always worked for publishing, popular, but of great quality, still sculptures, frescoes, miniatures, objects, photographed throughout Europe on this side and the other side of the "iron curtain" that then divided Europe. I am proud to have worked for the dissemination of knowledge, because I think I have contributed to a greater diffusion of knowledge. The grand finale catalogs of important exhibitions of Archaeology and again frescoes, paintings, sculptures for Japanese publishers and also books on Mantua. Then digital!
