Composure or the circling of the rest

Sunday February 23rd 2025
only between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM

The material sediment of performative research, in singing and theatre, can be the source or result of a work of space-time settlement that cannot be considered scenography. It is not matter that supports the horizon of song, of the unraveling of a line of action or intention, it is matter that is born in parallel where the impulse lingered for a moment too long, before the transformation. It is what remains before being breath: the untransformable material, the Residue. There is a Thing that concerns neither creation nor intuition nor the re-elaboration nor recovery of matter. It doesn't release a sound, but perhaps the voice thickens the space. I call the Thing: Composure. She calls me Or. We do not summon any transformation, the temperature does not change. However, when we place the Tear at the edges of a Woodworm, for fidelity, the Circle of the Remnant appears.

After twenty years in research theater in Europe and West Africa, she arrives at performative and performed poetic writing. Theatre, singing and writing also give life to a pre-intentional material creation.

"In the corners of the artist's words hisses a sound that has no destination but an unspecified dilation." Donata Negrini
