To mirror oneself

Sunday April 16 2023
only between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM

The current examples in which to mirror oneself seem to be far from those depicted in the vauls of the Attilio Regolo Room, but we have in common with the ancients the need for the same individual growth path to be followed. According to Carl Jung, the hero's journey is a process of inner evolution. An individuation process that requires overcoming many tests and different stages in which archetypes are activated that help us explore new realities. The hero's journey is a quest that requires a phase of detachment from the world, a detachment from the known to travel across the loneliness and then find yourself as an individual. Only having identified oneself can a return to the world take place, enriched with gifts to share with others. To find ourselves we must isolate ourselves and mirror ourselves to recognize our true nature, our true self, our shape, our color, our energy, the connection with other shapes, colors, energies, images present in history and in the actuality. In this sense, each piece of art is an exemplum as it allows the reflection of one or more parts of oneslf, personal and universal.

Nicoletta Freti has work and training experiences in the field of visual communication, teaching and psychology. Since 1997, She has participated in and organized numerous art events – exhibitions and competitions. She taught for 13 years in Fine Arts Academies.
In parallel with her artistic interests, she has cultivated a line of personal development. She's a founding member of the Self-care School of Bergamo, where she holds the position of didactic director and teacher. She has taught creativity courses for adults in various locations.

"The ambition of art to be recognized as a true and real presence is masked in the secret of the reflection." Donata Negrini
