Vanna Truffelli

L'arte senza il peso dell'Arte

Sunday June 19 2022
only between 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM

I started shooting with a Hasselblad, but I was not comfortable and I gave it to a professional photographer friend. I have used a Canon camera for years, and in the last period I have also used several small digital cameras. I really love walking until I get lost, while I observe details of objects, animals, houses, tree bark, water... while I am not very attracted to human subjects. In everything, natural or not, I look for the spiritual element and form. In this research I have also come to invent "still lives" which I build and shoot with many variations of light. I don't like to explain my photos, nor do I like them to be interpreted, because beauty is all contained in them, and should be enjoyed as it is, with an oriental restraint.

Vanna Truffelli, born in 1946, kept her photographic art hidden from everyone, until we at the MATtam "forced" her to show them. In 2016 she showed for the first time in a tam made at the Mantua Cube. After this tam at Palazzo Te, there will be a solo show of her in which we will finally be able to see many of her original photographs.

A new paganism inspires the search for the enigma that calls us from natural elements and things, to the point of reuniting with them in a single imperturbable energy. Donata Negrini
