The work on exhibition derive from my interest in balance. It was made during a 2012 residency at the BAU institute in Otranto, Italy. I was excited by the architecture in tufo stone in Otranto and the play of light and shadow on those surfaces. I enjoy working with simple materials and doing as little as possible to them to affect a change.

Debra Ramsay was born in 1957. She lives and works in New York City. Her recent exhibitions include H Gallery, Chaing MaI, Thailand; Galerie Nord/Kunstverein Tiergarten, Berlin, Germany and Pocket Utopia, New York, NY.
