Lynn Umlauf

Forme nella luce

Saturday Aprile 13 2013
only between 5:30 and 7:30 PM

I make paintings on primed, handmade paper outdoors in landscapes and indoors based on cityscapes. They are all abstract and mostly recordings of abstract and figurative forms in light. Sunlight reveals the colors and dimensions of forms in light. I usually continue working on these small paper paintings until the surface and color come together.

Lynn Umlauf was born in 1942 in Austin, studied at the University of Texas in Austin, the Art Student's League in New York and the Academy in Florence. She has lived and worked in New York and Italy since 1968. She has been present in 140 shows since 1966.
